Peterhof is a monument of architecture and the art of landscape design. It has gained worldwide fame as a "capital of fountains". Magnificent parks, abundance of fountains, cascades, gilded and marble statues of ancient gods and heroes, rich decoration of palaces - these all were to affirm the idea of Russian glory, which has "opened a window to Europe" and set its position in Baltic sea.

The ensemble is comprised of Great palace, Cottage palace, palaces Marly and Mon plesire, Catherine’s palace and Hermitage pavilion. Peterhof parks, such as Upper and Lower park, gardens of Venus and Bachus are of no less interest.
